Visas

It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that he/she has obtained a valid visa and travel documentation for him/her, as well as any accompanying persons, in order to attend the Rome Congress.

Delegates who do not have an EU passport or valid EU documentation:

Please visit the website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as soon as possible and:

  • find out whether, depending on your citizenship, country of long-term residence, and the duration and reasons for your stay, you need a visa to enter Italy.

  • find out which documents are required to apply for your visa.

If a visa is necessary, an application can be made at the Italian Diplomatic and Consular Representations in your country of residence. Applicants will need to provide the documentation required to justify the reasons and duration of their stay as well as, in some prescribed cases, the availability of adequate economic means and lodging.

Upon request, the SICOT Congress Secretariat will provide an invitation letter for visa purposes. Requests can be made to [email protected] after the delegate has registered. In some cases, a guarantee letter is also necessary and this can be requested from the AIM Group at [email protected].

ATTENTION:

  • Visa applications may take 120 days to be processed, so please check the details now.

  • The visa application fee is from EUR 35.00 to EUR 116.00 per person to be paid at the time of application, in the local currency, to the Consulate or Embassy directly.

  • Presentation of the documentation requested does not necessarily ensure issuance of the visa.

GUARANTEE LETTER for CHINESE citizens:

If you are a citizen of China (People's Republic of China - 中華人民共和國 - 中华人民共和国), in accordance with the agreements between the authorities, you are requested to obtain a guarantee letter issued by AIM Group as the Local Organiser of the Congress.
